PBI Role Professional Experience Personal Statement

Michael is a collaborating scientist on the PBI project. His work focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of Orthotylini of the southwest Pacific islands, California, and the Baja Peninsula.

Prior to becoming the Curator of Entomology at the San Diego Natural History Museum, Michael was a postdoctoral researcher on the PBI project. Michael has extensive field research experience in New Caledonia, Australia, South Africa, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the southeastern United States. His current field and inventory research focuses on California and the Baja Peninsula.

Michael Wall has both Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees in Botany, and a PhD in Entomology. During 2001-2002 Michael was a Fulbright Fellow working with Gerry Cassis at the Australian Museum. His PhD research focused on the true bug group Pentatomidae. He has also worked and published on the Miridae and Reduviidae.
