PBI Role Professional Experience Personal Statement

Sheridan was a Research Assistant for the project, assisting in information and project management.

Sheridan has a Masters degree in Environmental Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Resource and Environmental Management. She has worked in natural resource management in Australia, including project management of the federally funded program "Coasts and Clean Seas", in the state of New South Wales.

It was very exciting working on the Plant Bug PBI project developing new and useful tools for insect collections such as the barcoded matrix labels and the web accessible database. Already these tools have proven to be useful for other projects and insect collections, including spiders, bees, and wasps, both in the American Museum of Natural History and worldwide. It was also an honor working with such wonderful research scientists as they discovered and described new species of plant bugs.
