Miles City Oct 13 1902

My Dear Prof Osborn:

Just arrived in miles with rest of fossils. There areabout nineteen boxes in all, havent finished packing aggregating between ten and fiteen thousands of pounds of weight.
Rate from Miles to New York is $3.15 per hundred which as lowest tonnage means over thre hundred dollars freight.
The big skull will not go in a small car but goes in a furtinute car or one of 70000 capacity nicely. I dare not turn skull on edge and strongly advice against a flat car so a large car is the only recourse.
Hill place all fossils boxed, and labels in wool store house and then put in tim prospecting from Miles.
Havent had time to see about selling outfit yet will wrtie tomorrow or as soon as possible.
Please write instructions if you can get car also town and name of man to whom I am to apply for informaion regarding fossil in Mountains. I know only that fossil is in Ruby Range of Mountains.
Just received your letter containing Mr. Wilbus address but it wil take a week to get reply from him.

Sincerely yours
Barnum Brown.
