Hypersaline area with Glass-wort (Salicornia borealis)

In some areas, revegetation by salt tolerant plant species has occurred, resulting in a plant community that is useless for foraging geese. In this picture you can see the red plant (an annual) has germinated in a monotypic sward. The plant is indicative of hypersaline soils.
