  • Curator Barnum Brown and Mr. P. C. Kaisen spent several months in the Lower Cretaceous Cloverly beds in NW WY and adjoining parts of MT. 52 cases of fossils were secured. Assoc. Curator G. G. Simpson spent about 6 weeks in MT, under the auspices of the United States National Museum, in a study of Fort Union Paleocene beds. Stratigraphical studies were made. Tentative plans were laid for reopening, by the American Museum, of one or more of the old mammals quarries. Mr. Childs Frick's explorations of the Miocene and Pliocene beds of the western states were continued with excellent results.
