My dear William

Glade to hear from you at Chama and that you are starting for the Wasatch exposures. Hope you will like it well this time and get some good things. I rather hope that Riggs' gun shoeing will eventuate in going to Alberta, for I think we are early enough in the field and strong enough in the party to sweep what we want out of it before he could get in ahead of us. Lull I hear is to work in Texas and central Nebraska this summer. The latter I am rather on my about as we want to run that country; his probably unless he takes an auto, he will not get very much out of it unless by a fluke. But there is a big giraffe-camel skeleton somewhere in the edges of the sand hills between the heads of the Loups and the Running Water, and we want it.

I will get Hermann to forward the gunn to you as soon as we have some; just now we are completely out of it.

I enclose a copy of a letter from Loomis which Stein should see.

Professor Osborn expects to leave for Europe about the 10th of this month.

Sincerely,

W.D.Matthew
