July 18, 1910

My dear Brown:

I was greatly interested to receive your letters of July 8th from Lismas and July 13th from camp, also Pete's welcome letter of acknowledgment. I am delighted to hear that the Trachodon turns out so well, and shall write immediately to Dr. Smith Woodward about it. I shall not be much disappointed if you do not find additional prospects, it seems so important for you to get off early to Alberta. The heat and drought parallels what we have been having here, fortunately interrupted by a magnificent rain in the Hudson valley Saturday. I think that Willis's removal to Glasgow is quite a conventional proceeding after his picturesque life on the ranch. Thank you for your enclosure of $150. I was very glad to help you out. According to your letter of July 13th you have finished most of the heavy work on the Trachodon, and both Pete and yourself appear to agree that it is a fine specimen. I will instruct Mr. Sherwood to place $600 to your credits. All goes well here. The Triceratops skull promises to be nearly complete. The sloth groups are gradually taking shape. Everyone in the department is well. With best wishes for your great success in the north, and good health to you both, I am

Always most sincerely yours,

H.F. Osborn"
