Camp on Box Creek

My dear Professor Osborn:

We have finished most of the heavy work on the Trachodon and I shall now leave it to Kaisen to finish while I go on my long ride to the Mussel shell country. This is important to determine if there is any more Laramie in that direction for all the country on the east has been examined.

The initial expense of the Alberta trip will be considerable $200 freight and about $250 for the boat. You had best place $600 to my credit in the colonial Bank Field Funds.

It looks now as though we could finish here easily by Aug 1st unless other good finds come to light

Sincerely yours.

Barnum Brown

Dear Prof. Osborn

Mr. Brown has told me of the $50 check deposited to my account. I am very grateful to you for the gift as it comes at a time when my salary is not adequate to meet expenses. We take the last bones of the Trachodon up today It is a fine specimen, most of it is there and most of the bones are good, the skull as in a fine shape as far as I could see. It now only remains to pack it up. Mr. Brown leave camp tomorrow to go to seven Blackfoot. I have some badlands near here to look over and if nothing new turns up we well soon leave for the north. The weather has been very hot and dry, good weather for our work but bad for the farmers.

Sincerely Yours

P.C. Kaisen
