February 25 1907 Dear Prof. Osborn: Your letter with L.E. 50 enclosed received today. I judge you had not received my letter and Markgraf's at the time of your writing. We have no more skulls but some excellent jaws of various genera from the Quarry B and from prospecting. Tomorrow we open up the small quarries on the hill to west of Quarry A, still retaining the Quarries at B however. I have written to the White Star line at Naples relinquishing state from 173 on "Celtie" Mar 20th but in order to avoid any possibility of error of delay of mail you might inquire at their office in Naples if the matter is all right. Markgraf was over day before yesterday (24th) and did have anything of importance; additional. What he has already is worth a months pay, easily, and we are hoping that you will not hesitate to hire him from the time he came in here. If he offered his services to you in Cairo I should think there would be no chance for Lt. Fraas to complain. Everything runs along properly here. Between English, Arabic and sign language we manage to understand one another fairly well. Shall address my next letter to Naples. I am, with regard Very Sincerely Yours, Walter Granger |
