My Dear Prof Osborn:-

Your letter of Oct 6th just received. I finished boxing fossils and transfering them to wool house. Each one is addressed numbered and wired where possible. There are 21 boxes of fossils and they wight 7950lbs exclusive of skull. Could not weigh it till others are loaded but it will weigh as least a ton. There is a good half car for only a few of the boxes can be placed on top of each other. I shall leave fossils in charge of Mr. wiley the banker or some other responsilbe business man with explicit instruction regarding handling.
Should much prefer to load them myself but under circumstances it seems advisable to me to go to Billings tonight and drive out to Jursassic locality there on Crow Reservaion which will take about two days with a day to look over the country. This will be better than running up a hotel bill here without anything to show for it.
Sold entired outfit yesterday for $190. the best I could do after holding them a week. This about two thirds of original cost.
If you have sent letter or telegram to me before receipt of this letter I have left word to have everything forwarded to Billings.
The weather remains good and if you have that address send it for it is a matter of only about three hundred miles from here and seeing the fossil now make save time another season.
I should like to take my vacation at end of season here and make my parents a visit in Kansas.
Trusting everything meets your approval
I am

Sincerely yours
Barnum Brown
