Exclosures were set up to demonstrate and
measure the effects of grazing and grubbing (by removing these
factors from small areas) and the recovery potential of the plant
communities. Exclosures have been monitored from 1-15 years.
These exclosures show the devastating effect of grubbing outside an exclosure; this is the most severe situation. The surrounding area has been completely stripped of vegetation through years of grubbing. Note that inside the forage plants are healthy and some plants are flowering as in the good marsh shown earlier.
