GALLIENIELLIDAE

Description: Spiders with projecting, long, parallel chelicerae armed with teeth on the lower margin and a very long fang. The chelicerae of the male of Gallieniella are equal in length to the carapace: those of the female are shorter. The ALS are conical, closely spaced, and bear a small apical segment. The PLS are wide and long with a short apical segment. There are eight eyes in two rows of four: eyes are closely grouped.

Distribution: South Africa, Madagascar; probably South America and Australia.
