Biology 45300 - Conservation Biology

This undergraduate course provides an introduction to conservation biology with an emphasis on the interplay of various fields of biology in the mamangement and conservation of species and their habitat.

We will use RB Primack. A Primer of Conservation Biology, Fourth Edition (Sinauer) as the primary text.

The class meets on Thursdays beginning August 28, 2008 from 9:15 AM to 12 noon in room 043 of the Marshak Building at City College.

Biology 76005 - Population Ecology

This graduate course will examine the dynamics of populations under a variety of conditions ranging from stochasticity to density dependence. We will explore both near- and long-term dynamics.

The course will rely on NJ Gotelli. 2008. A Primer of Ecology, 4th Edition, Sinauer, Sunderland. as a primary text and will draw on contemporary literature.

The class meets Wednesday beginning August 27, 2008 at 9:15 AM to 12:00 Noon. It will be held in the Ornithology Classroom at the American Museum of Natural History.
