Notes for image files in \users\debel\hall\Window: The files here are of two chondrules in the Allende polished thin section (PTS) that is in the Hall of Meteorites. This specimen (4311) is from the Meteorite Collection of AMNH. Credit/Rights: ALL images were taken by Denton S. Ebel, using equipment in the Dept. Earth and Planetary Sciences, Physical Sciences Division, American Museum of Natural History. Copyright adheres to AMNH. Method: Colorful shots are taken in 'cross-polarized' light, the more transparent ones in 'plane-polarized light', all through a research microscope. Scale: The very round chondrule (AlChn) is about 2.2 millimeters in diameter. The irregular object (Al2) is taken at the same magnification as AlChn. Format: Files with -pc. are saved from photoshop in 'IBM-pc byte order', and those labeled -mac. are saved with 'macintosh byte order'. All images were taken at highest rez with a Nikon coolpix 900 3.5 Mpixel camera, and were saved from photoshop without compression. DS Ebel 4-Sep-03.
