Cullman Molecular Laboratory

The Lewis and Dorothy Cullman Research Facility and the Monell Molecular Laboratory housed in the Department of Ornithology is a state-of-the-art molecular systematics laboratory. Research in the facility is being undertaken by numerous postdoctoral and graduate students and encompasses a wide range of research projects from population genetic structure, co-evolution of plants and animals, conservation genetics, to numerous studies investigating phylogenetic and biogeographic questions within birds. In addition, investigators from other Museum departments often conduct research in the facility, as do occasional visitors from other institutions. The Laboratory is under the direction of Curators Joel Cracraft and George Barrowclough, who can be contacted for further information.
