Isthmura Dubois and Raffaëlli, 2012, Alytes, 28: 77–161. Type species: Spelerpes belli Gray, 1850, by original designation. Coined as a subgenus of Pseudoeurycea in the sense of excluding Ixalotriton.
Distribution
Montane Mexico from east-central Sonora and adjacent Chihuahua in the Sierra Madre Occidental and from southern Tamaulipas in the Sierra Madre Oriental south through Nayarite, and Zacatecas,to Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, wester-central Veracruz, and the Sierra Madre del Sur of Guerrero and Oaxaca.
Comment
Formerly the Pseudoeurycea bellii group, removed from that genus by Rovito, Parra-Olea, Recuero, and Wake, 2015, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 175: 184, to preserve the monophyly of Pseudoeurycea.
