Type locality: "Parnassos" and "Korax Mountains", Greece. Restricted to "Parnass", Greece" by Mertens and Müller, 1928, Abh. Senckenb. Naturforsch. Ges., 41: 20, and to "Parnassos", Greece, by lectotype designation.

Rana temporaria var. bosniensis Werner, 1897, Rept. Amph. Österr.: 92. Holotype: Not stated, but presumably NHMW. Type locality: "Travnik, Bosnien". Status rejected by Boulenger, 1898, Tailless Batr. Eur., 2: 307. Synonymy with Rana graeca by Werner, 1899, Wiss. Mitt. Bosnien Hercegov., 6: 826.

Distribution

Balkan peninsula from Bosnia, Serbia, and southern Bulgaria south through Albania and Macedonia and throughout continental Greece; possibly into European Turkey.
