Odorrana (Odorrana) yizhangensis Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2007, Acta Zootaxon. Sinica, 32: 989. Holotype: CIB 75I0900, by original designation. Type locality: "Mangshan of Yizhang County (25° N, 113° E, Hunan Province, China".

English Names

Yizang Odorous Frog (Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 399). 

Distribution

Known from the vicinity of the type locality (Mangshan of Yizhang County, Hunan Province, China, 1000-1200 m elevation); also reported in southern Hubei on the Hunan border, the Fanjing Mountains  in northeastern Guizhou, and from the Tianping Mountains in Hunan, China.

In the Odorrana schmackeri group and previously confused with Odorrana lungshengensis according to the original publication. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1298-1301, provided an account, figures, and map (including a record for Hubei) and placed it in their Odorrana (Odorrana) schmackeri group. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 349, provided a brief account including photographs of specimens and habitat. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 399, provided an account, photographs, and a range map. Shen, 2014, Fauna Hunan, Amph.: 258–261, provided an account for Hunan, China. Zhang, 2017, Amph. Rept. Fanjing Mts.: 132–134, provided taxonomic and natural history information for the Fanjing Mountains population in northeastern Guizhou, China. Jin, Liao, Zhang, Wang, and Jiang, 2018, Chinese J. Zool., 53: 849–856, reported the species from the Tianping Mountains, Hunan Province, China, and discussed intraspecific genetic divergence.
