Distribution

Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Bac Giang, Ha Tinh, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Son La, and Hoa Binh Province provinces, Vietnam, and Xieng Khouang and Salavan provinces, Laos; in adjacent Wenshan Prefecture, southeastern Yunnan, China; likely into northeastern Cambodia.

In the Rana (Nidirana) adenopleura group of Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 324. See account by Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 341–343, who considered it to be a member of the subgenus HylaranaStuart, 2005, Herpetol. Rev., 36: 477, provided specific localities for Laos. Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 26, provided specific localities for Vietnam. Luu, Nguyen, Pham, Dang, Vu, Miskovic, Bonkowski, and Ziegler, 2013, Biodiversity J., 4: 285–300, reported the species in Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam. Hecht, Pham, Nguyen, Nguyen, Bonkowski, and Ziegler, 2013, Biodiversity J., 4: 507–552, reported a record from Tay Yen Tu Nature Reserve, Bac Giang Province, northeastern Vietnam and discussed the range.
