Distribution

Central and southern Fujian, as well as one record in northeastern Jiangxi, in high-gradient streams, China, 700 to 1400 m elevation.

Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Amolops hongkongensis by Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 240 (who provided a brief account, figure, and map), where it had been places by Yang, 1991, Fieldiana, Zool., N.S., 63: 13. Status as a distinct species was verified by Ngo, Murphy, Liu, Lathrop, and Orlov, 2006, Amphibia-Reptilia, 27: 89. Jin, Jiang, Xie, Zheng, and Xu, 2005, Zool. Res., Kunming, 26: 61-68, supported the distinctiveness of this species. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1558-1562, provided an account, figures, and range map, and included the species in their Amolops daiyunensis group. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 401, provided a brief account including photographs. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 410, provided an account, photographs, and a range map.
