Amolops chayuensis Sun, Luo, Sun, and Zhang, 2013, Forestry Construct., 20: 14. Holotype: CY 201307041. Type locality: Chawalong, Chayu County, Xizang Autonomous Region, China, 2070 m elevation.

Most similar to Amolops aniquaoensis according to the original publication.  Excluded from the Amolops monticola group by Zeng, Liang, Li, Lyu, Wang, and Zhang, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 146 (106753): 1–9, who discussed phylogenetics. Che, Jiang, Yan, and Zhang, 2020, Amph. Rept. Tibet: 187–191, provided a detailed account and range map for Tibet. In the Amolops monticola group of Wu, Yan, Stuart, Prendini, Suwannapoom, Dahn, Zhang, Cai, Xu, Jiang, Chen, Lemmon, Lemmon, Raxworthy, Orlov, Murphy, and Che, 2020, Mol.
