Amolops albispinus Sung, Hu, Wang, Liu, and Wang, 2016, Zootaxa, 4170: 530. Holotype: SYS a003454, by original designation. Type locality: "Mt. Wutong (22°34′54.8″N, 114°12′2.7″E; 260 m a.s.l.), Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China".

English Names

White-spined Cascade Frog (original publication). 


Mount Wutong and 30 km away on Mount Paiya, Zhenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, in low to mid-elevation (60–500 m) rocky, fast-flowing streams surrounded by moist subtropical secondary evergreen broadleaved forest. 


The sister taxon of Amolops wuyiensis + Amolops ricketti according to the original publication.  Lyu, Huang, Wang, Li, Chen, Qi, and Wang, 2019, ZooKeys, 812: 133–156, placed this species in the Amolops ricketti group via a mtDNA tree and provided a range map.
