Tomopterna wambensis Wasonga and Channing, 2013, Zootaxa, 3734: 226. Holotype: NMK A/5152/1, by original designation. Type locality: "Sodor water pan in farmlands near Wamba township, Isiolo County, Kenya (0° 59’ N; 37° 20’ E)". 

English Names

Wamba Sand Frog (original publication). 

Distribution

Northwestern through central to southern Kenya south into Tanzania at Arusha; likely to occur in Ethiopia near to Illeret, Kenya.

Comment

A cryptic species with little in the way of morphology to distinguish it according to the original publication. Spawls, Wasonga, and Drewes, 2019, Amph. Kenya: 38, provided a photograph, range map, and brief characterization. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 382–383, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
