Afrana vandijki Visser and Channing, 1997, J. Afr. Zool., 111: 192. Holotype: TMP 80222, by original designation. Type locality: "Swartberg Pass . . . . The Swartberg Pass crosses the Swartberg mountain range at 1800 m (33° 21′ S, 22° 03′ E)."

High elevations of central Namibia south to the of the Swartberg and Langeberg ranges in the southern part of Western Cape Province, as well as east and north to Lesotho and north towards the Zimbabwe frontier, South Africa, 350 to 1600 m elevation.
