Comment

Perret and Mertens, 1957, Bull. Inst. Franç. Afr. Noire, Ser. A, 19: 554, regarded Hymenochirus feae as a subspecies of Hymenochirus boettgeri, but Perret, 1966, Zool. Jahrb., Jena, Abt. Syst., 93: 305, recognized Hymenochirus feae as a distinct species. Frétey, Dewynter, and Blanc, 2011, Amphibiens d’Afrique centrale et d’Angola: Clé de détermination ilustrée des amphibiens du Gabon et du Mbini: 1–232, provided a key for identification.
