Phrynobatrachus ruthbeateae Rödel, Doherty-Bone, Kouete, Janzen, Garrett, Browne, Gonwouo, Barej, and Sandberger-Loua, 2012, Zootaxa, 3431: 55. Holotype: ZMB 77457, by original designation. Type locality: "Cameroon, near Dja Biosphere Reserve, N 03° 24.257′, E 013° 08.314′, 659 m a.s.l., primary swampy evergreen rainforest".

Nomina inquirenda - Name(s) unassigned to a living or extinct population

provided a record from Batéké Plateau National Park, Haut Ogooé Province, Gabon, and suspected that the species extends into adjacent Rep. Congo.

Distribution

Southern Cameroon. 

Comment

Potential confused only with Phrynobatrachus batesii on morphology according to the original publication. The record for Gabon (Zimkus and Larson, 2013, Herpetol. Rev., 44: 104), was subsequently assigned to the newly named Phrynobatrachus horsti by Rödel, Burger, Zassi-Boulou, Emmrich, Penner, and Barej, 2015, Zootaxa, 4032: 66.
