Nelson and Lescure, 1975, Herpetologica, 31: 394, discussed confusion with Myersiella microps; the distribution they cited has not been reviewed since the newer species have been described. Lescure and Marty, 2000, Collect. Patrimoines Nat., Paris, 45: 276-277, provided a photo and brief account for French Guiana. Barrio-Amorós, 1999 "1998", Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 18: 58, commented on the Venezuelan distribution and Barrio-Amorós and Brewer-Carias, 1999, Herpetol. Rev., 30: 51, provided an additional Venezuelan locality. See account for Surinam population by Ouboter and Jairam, 2012, Amph. Suriname: 270-271.
