Phrynella pollicaris Boulenger, 1890, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1890: 37. Holotype: BMNH 87.7.30.16, according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 108; now BM 1947.2.11.47, by museum records. Type locality: "Perak, 3,000 ft.", Malaysia (Malaya).
