Comment

See identification table (as Calluella) by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 46, to compare the species of the Sunda Shelf region. Calluella was xcluded from Dyscophinae and placed in Calluellinae by by Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2005, in Fei et al. (eds.), Illust. Key Chinese Amph.: 278. Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 230, placed Calluella in Microhylinae on the basis of phylogenetic position. Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543-583, in their study of Genbank sequences, suggested Calluella to be the sister taxon of GlyphoglossusDas, Min, Hsu, Hertwig, and Haas, 2014, Zootaxa, 3785: 559–560, confirmed the placement of Glyphoglossus within Calluella and on the basis of additional data and the same results Peloso, Frost, Richards, Rodrigues, Donnellan, Matsui, Raxworthy, Biju, Lemmon, Lemmon, and Wheeler, 2016, Cladistics, 32: xxx, made the synonymy. See Taylor, 1962, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 43: 575–578 (for Glyphoglossus molossus). Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 225, removed Glyphoglossus (in the sense of not including Calluella) from any subfamily pending resolution of its phylogenetic placement. Transferred to Microhylinae by Van Bocxlaer, Roelants, Biju, Nagaraju, and Bossuyt, 2006, PLoS One, 1: 1–6. Matsui, Hamidy, Belabut, Ahmad, Panha, Sudin, Khonsue, Oh, Yong, Jiang, and Nishikawa, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 167–176, suggested the possibility that this taxon may be imbedded within Calluella on the basis of mtDNA phylogenetic analysis. Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543–583, in their study of Genbank sequences, suggested Glyphoglossus to be the sister taxon of CalluellaDas, Min, Hsu, Hertwig, and Haas, 2014, Zootaxa, 3785: 559–560, confirmed the placement of Glyphoglossus within Calluella
