Kalophrynus interlineatus (Blyth, 1855)

Class: Amphibia > Order: Anura > Family: Microhylidae > Subfamily: Kalophryninae > Genus: Kalophrynus > Species: Kalophrynus interlineatus

Engystoma (?) interlineatum Blyth, 1855 "1854", J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, 23: 732. Type(s): Zoology Dept., Asiatic Society of Bengal Museum; holotype is ZSIC 9853 according to Sclater, 1892, List Batr. Indian Mus.: 22, and Chanda, Das, and Dubois, 2001 "2000", Hamadryad, 25: 104, who discussed the location and identification of the type. Ohler and Grosjean, 2005, Herpetozoa, Wien, 18: 99–106, discussed the holotype. BMNH records suggest that 1947.2.31.26–27 (formerly 1868.4.3.128–129) are syntypes; Zug, 2015, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 62: 164, explained why he rejected the status of the ZSI specimen as holotype and suggested that two specimens at the BMNH were the syntypes, of which he designated BMNH 1974.2.31.27 as lectotype. Type locality: "Pegu" (= Bago), Myanmar; part of a collection from "Mergui, and the valley of the Tenasserim river" according to Blyth, 1856 "1855", J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, 24: 720.

Matsui, Chan-ard, and Nabhitabhata, 1996, Copeia, 1996: 440–445, described the advertisement call, and removed Kalophrynus interlineatus from the synonymy of Kalophrynus pleurostigma, where it had been placed by Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 97. See accounts (as Kalophrynus pleurostigma interlineatus) by Yang, 1991, Amph. Fauna of Yunnan: 229–230; Ye, Fei, and Hu, 1993, Rare and Economic Amph.
