Distribution

Rondônia, southern Amazonas, and the western two-thirds of Mato Grosso to eastern Pará, Brazil; presumably into adjacent northeastern Bolivia.

Comment

Confused with Elachistocleis ovalis prior to its naming according to the original publication. Strüssmann, Campos, Rodrigues, Almeida, Toledo, Hoogmoed, and Valadão, 2012, Check List, 8: 317-320, provided a geographic range map and discussed the range. Meneghelli and Calderon, 2017 "2016", Herpetol. Rev., 47: 622, provided a record from Porto Velho, Rondônia, Brazil.
