Eastern Ecuador; Amazonian Peru; Cochabamba and Beni, Bolivia; western Brazil (Acre); presumably in adjacent Amazonian Colombia.


Bolivian range provided by De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 51. Rodríguez and Duellman, 1994, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 22: 74, provided a brief account for the Iquitos region of northeastern Peru. See comment under Chiasmocleis shudikarensis. Peloso and Sturaro, 2008, Zootaxa, 1947: 40, noted that call differences exist among populations suggesting that more than one species may be covered by this name. Morales and McDiarmid, 2009, Biotempo, Lima, 9: 74, also noted call differences among populations that suggest species distinctions. In the Chiasmocleis ventrimaculata clade of Peloso, Sturaro, Forlani, Gaucher, Motta, and Wheeler, 2014, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 386: 20, and (pp. 59–63) provided an account.
