Chiasmocleis mantiqueira Cruz, Feio, and Cassini, 2007, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 65: 34. Holotype: MNRJ 43407, by original designation. Type locality: "BRASIL: MINAS GERAIS: Municipio de Ervália, Distrito do Careço, Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro (20° 53′ S, 42° 31′ W, 1227 m de altitude)".

Distribution

Atlantic forest habitat in the Mantiqueira Mountain range, southeastern Minas Gerais and from the Parque Nacional da Serra da Bocaina, in the eastern part of the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

Comment

Most closely related to Chiasmocleis capixaba, Chiasmocleis cordeiroi, Chiasmocleis crucis, and Chiasmocleis leucosticta. Santana, Motta, Pirani, Silva, and Feio, 2012, J. Herpetol., 46: 14-18, reported on the advertisement call and larval morphology. Moroti, Pedrozo, Machado, and Santana, Herpetol. Notes, 9: 229–231, provided a record from the state of São Paulo, Brazil, and provided a dot map of the range. Pezzuti, Leite, Rossa-Feres, and Garcia, 2021, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 22 (Special Issue): 1–109, described and discussed larval morphology and natural history.
