Stumpffia roseifemoralis Guibé, 1974, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 3, Zool., 171: 1188. Holotype: MNHNP 1973.712 by original designation (lost, according to Glaw and Vences, 1992, Fieldguide Amph. Rept. Madagascar: 272). Type locality: "Massif du Marojezy (1300 m)", Madagascar. Synonymy by . F. Glaw (pers. comm.) suggests that this is either valid or a synonym of Stumpffia grandis.

Madagascar, Ed. 3: 128 (who provided an account and noted a similar unnamed species from Voloina, Madagascar), where it had been placed by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 105.
