Platypelis karenae Rosa, Crottini, Noël, Rabibisoa, Raxworthy, and Andreone, 2014, Salamandra, 50: 205. Holotype: MRSN A6847, by original designation. Type locality: "Sahambendrana campsite, 17°53’54.5’’ S, 049°12’55.2’’ E, 458 m a.s.l., Betampona, Region Atsinanana, Commune Rurale de Sahambala, east Madagascar".

Distribution

Known only from the Réserve Naturelle Intégrale No. 1 de Betampona, Region AtsinananaCommune Rurale de Sahambal, one of the last low-altitude rainforest fragments of eastern Madagascar 

Comment

Suggested in the original publication on the basis of a minimal amount of mtDNA to be the sister taxon of Platypelis tuberifera
