Oreophryne wapoga Günther, Richards, and Iskandar, 2001, Spixiana, München, 24: 268. Holotype: MZB Amph. 7538, by original designation. Type locality: "at an altitude of 1070 m asl at Wapoga Alpha Exploration Camp (136° 34′ 423″ [sic] E, 3° 08′ 687″ [sic] S, Wapoga River headwaters, Irian Jaya [now Papua], Indonesia".
