Oreophryne notata Zweifel, 2003, Am. Mus. Novit., 3419: 2. Holotype: AMNH A-81198, by original designation. Type locality: "Ialibu, elevation 1920 m, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Ialibu, 1920 m elevation) and from Tabubil on the Ok Tedi River, 550 m elevation, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.
