Oreophryne geminus Zweifel, Cogger, and Richards, 2005, Am. Mus. Novit., 3495: 12. Holotype: AMS R144521, by original designation. Type locality: "West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea, at Dokfuma Meadow south of Mt. Capella, Star Mountains, 05° 01′ S, 141° 06′ E, elevation 3080 m".

Asterophrys geminus — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 521, by implication.

Known only from the type locality (Dokfuma Meadow south of Mt. Capella, Star Mountains, West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea).
