Austrochaperina septentrionalis Allison and Kraus, 2003, J. Herpetol., 37: 638. Holotype: BPBM 14152, by original designation. Type locality: "Agpo Creek, 8.5 km N, 13 km E of Utai, 950 m elevation, 03.312° S, 141.700° E, Bewani Mts., West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea".

Most similar to Austrochaperina hooglandi according to the original publication. Kraus and Allison, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 364-368, provided a record for the Torricelli Mountains. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 223-224, provided a brief account.
