Chaperina macrorhyncha Van Kampen, 1906, Nova Guinea, 5: 168. Holotype: RMNH 4630 according to Gassó Miracle, van den Hoek Ostende, and Arntzen, 2007, Zootaxa, 1482: 35. Type locality: "Manikion-Gebiet", southeastern corner of the Vogelkop Peninsular, Papua Barat Province (New Guinea), Indonesia.

Distribution

Primary rainforest at elevations of 700 to 950 m in the Maniok Region at the southeastern corner of the Vogelkop Peninsula, Papua Barat Province; Wondiwoi Mountains at the base of the Wandammen Peninsula, border between Papua and Papua Barat Provinces; Fakfak Mountains on the Bomberai Peninsula, Papua Barat Province, all in Indonesian New Guinea. 

Comment

Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 220, provided a brief account in the sense of including Austrochaperina punctata. See account by Günther, 2017, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 67: 207–222, who redelimited the species and redescribed it.
