English Names

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Mount Taiping, Sangzhi County, northern Hunan Province, China).

Comment

Most similar to Megophrys spinata and Megophrys caudoprocta according to the original publication. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 400-, provided an account (as Megophrys), illustration of the holotype, and spot map. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 212, provided a brief account including photographs. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 240, provided an account, photographs, and a range map. Fei and Ye, 2016, Amph. China, 1: 712–714, provided an account, photographs, and spot map, as Xenophrys sangzhiensis.
