Megophrys oropedion Mahony, Teeling, and Biju, 2013, Zootaxa, 3722: 151. Holotype: ZSI A 11601, by original designation. Type locality: "Um Risa stream (25° 33.644’ N 91° 52.960’ E, 1,520 m asl.), Malki Forest (on Shillong Peak), Shillong, East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya state, northeast India".

Distribution

Known only from Malki Forest (1510 to 1600 m elevation), Shillong and Mawphlang Sacred Forest (1810 m elevation) and likely to be found in other forest fragments in the East and West Khasi Hills districts that cover the upper reaches of the Shillong Plateau above 1400 m elevation, Meghalay, northeastern India.

Confused with Megophrys parva prior to its naming according to the original publication.
