Distribution

Virachey National Park, northeastern Cambodia; reported from Kon Tum Province, Vietnam; expected in adjacent Laos.

External morphology and advertisement call detailed in the original publication. In the Leptolalax applebyi group according to Rowley, Tran, Le, Dau, Peloso, Nguyen, Hoang, Nguyen, and Ziegler, 2016, Zootaxa, 4085: 63–102. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 30, reported the species from Kon Tum Province, Vietnam, and implied that the Kon Tum record of Leptolalax cf. applebyi by Jestrzemski, Schütz, Nguyen, and Ziegler, 2013, Asian J. Conserv. Biol., 2: 91, is assignable to this species.
