Pseudopaludicola motorzinho Pansonato, Veiga-Menoncello, Mudrek, Jansen, Recco-Pimentel, Martins, and Strüssmann, 2016, Herpetologica, 72: 237. Holotype: UFMT 16207, by original designation. Type locality: "Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) SESC Pantanal, Base Espírito Santo (16°35′19″S, 56°16′50″W; datum = WGS84 in all cases), municipality of Barão de Melgaço, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil".

Nine municipalities of the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil (Barão de Melgaço, Cáceres, Cuiabá, Jaciara, Nobres, Nossa Senhora do Livramento, Poconé, Pontes e Lacerda, and Vila Bela da Santíıssima Trindade), two municipalities of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil (Corumbá and Porto Murtinho), and two provinces in the Department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia (San Ignacio de Velasco and Angel Sandoval); likely to be found in adjacent Paraguay.

Comment

In the Pseudopaludicola pusilla group, the sister taxon of Pseudopaludicola boliviana, according to the original publication, where it had also been noted that this species had previously been confused with both Pseudopaludicola falcipes and Pseudopaludicola boliviana. Cavalheri, Ceron, Carrillo, Neves, and Santana, 2023, Southwest. Nat., 67: 283–290, reported on ecological niche modeling, its range (including a dot map), and advertisement call variation.
