Distribution

Associated with temporary pools in arid southeastern Kenya.

In the Hyperolius viridiflavus superspecies, according to Schiøtz, 1975, Treefrogs E. Afr.: 218. Considered a subspecies of Hyperolius viridiflavus by Laurent, 1976, Ann. Mus. R. Afr. Cent., Tervuren, Ser. Octavo, Sci. Zool., 213: 90. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 181-182, provided an account.
