Biodiversity, 20 (1: 2039318): 1–31, noted, as part of a general revision of the family, an unnamed species (Megaelosia sp. aff. goeldi) from Trilha do Poço do Padre, next to Estacão Morumbeca, Parque Estadual do Desengano, municipality of Santa Maria Madalena, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and suggested that the record from the municipality of São José do Barreiro, state of São Paulo, Brazil, is in error.
