Crossodactylus werneri Pimenta, Cruz, and Caramaschi, 2014, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 45: 23. Holotype: MZUSP 113897, by original designation. Type locality: "Parque Nacional do Itatiaia (22°26’S, 44°36’W, 1,067 m a.s.l. – coordinates from park facilities taken from Google Earth for reference purposes only), States of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil".

Distribution

Known from a narrow portion of the Serra da Mantiqueira, from the Parque Nacional do Itatiaia, between the States of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, to the Municipality of Santo Antônio dos Pinhais, State of São Paulo, and also from Teresópolis, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Comment

In the Crossodactylus dispar complex and confused with that species prior to its naming according to the original publication. Vidigal, Carvalho, Clemente-Carvalho, and Giaretta, 2018, Zootaxa, 4388: 61–75, reported on vocalizations, larval morphology, and natural history.
