Distribution

Andean foothills in the Amazonian provinces of Loja, Napo, and Morona-Santiago, Ecuador, as well as the Peruvian provinces of Mariscal Cáceres and Rioja, 1000 to 2200 m elevation.

Removed from the synonymy by Jungfer, 2010, Zootaxa, 2407: 33, where it had been placed by Trueb and Duellman, 1971, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 1: 19.
