Hyla bistincta labeculata Shannon, 1951, Proc. U.S. Natl. Mus., 101: 470. Holotype: USNM 123689, by original designation. Type locality: "San Lucas Camotlán, Oaxaca", Mexico. Subspecies status rejected by Duellman, 1964, Univ. Kansas Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist., 15: 475.

Distribution

Mountains of Mexico from Durango, Nayarit, and Veracruz to México and Oaxaca.

Rev., 43: 298, provided a record for the Municipality of Valle de Bravo in the state of Mexico. Lemos-Espinal and Smith, 2015, Check List, 11(1642): 1–11, noted the occurrence of the species in Hidalgo, Mexico, without providing a specific locality.  Luja and Grünwald, 2015, Herpetol. Rev., 46: 223, provide for Municipality of Xalisco, Nayarit, Mexico, and commented on the range.
