Hyla mixe Duellman, 1965, Herpetologica, 21: 32. Holotype: KU 87110, by original designation. Type locality: "a stream 4.2 kilometers by road south of Campamento Vista Hermosa, (near latitude 17° 50′ N and longitude 96° 20′ W), at an elevation of 1,800 meters on the northern slope of Sierra de Juárez, Distrito de Ixtlán, Oaxaca, México".
